Interior concept, design & visual identity : Escale, Bar & Brasserie, Istanbul, 2015.
Escale is a bar-brasserie located on first floor of the upscale Kanyon shopping center in Istanbul. This venue offers users an elegant space for eating, drinking and socializing with a marked indoor/outdoor experience reflecting Kanyon’s architecture.
It intends to provide a confortable space where people can experience a peaceful break from the moment they come until the moment they leave the restaurant.
The restaurant bears an open kitchen, a large terrace, a wine cellar and dining areas. The wine cellar gains in functionality and with the use of raw oak and brass metal pipes and can be seen through the immense “door window”.
The large bar/terrace area offers a view on the exterior and the sky.
All the areas may be opened, closed or intertwined aiming to become a living/meeting place in the neighbourhood and in the cultural context of Istanbul, become a sustainable intitutional space.
